Brane Enterprises specializes in AI-driven solutions, leveraging machine learning, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and generative AI to power autonomous systems, robotics, and intelligent automation. Brane needed a low-code platform to help enterprise users design custom AI solutions without deep coding knowledge.

The user research for Notepad application focused on understanding the specific needs and pain points of developers and testers. The goal was to design a tool that would not only facilitate note-taking but also enhance cross-departmental collaboration.
We conducted 10 user interviews and a competitive audit, identifying that non-technical managers needed a visual drag-and-drop interface. Based on this, we created persona-based user journeys and multiple prototyping rounds.

Persona Development
Created personas based on the research findings to represent different types of users within the company, ensuring the design would cater to various needs.

Conducted on the initial prototypes to gather feedback on the user interface and functionality, ensuring the design was intuitive and met the users' expectations.

The research findings directly influenced the design of Notepad application, leading to the development of a user-centric interface that balances simplicity with powerful collaborative features. The prototype was tailored to meet the identified needs, ensuring it would be a valuable tool for enhancing productivity and collaboration within the company.
This competitive audit evaluated existing applications and features against existing leading notepad applications, focusing on features, usability, design, and collaboration capabilities. The goal is to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and potential areas for improvement.

I observed that each individual had devised their own distinct methods for taking notes by relying on a combination of multiple applications across different devices. While some applications excelled within specific ecosystems, some struggled to function optimally on different devices.

Lack of a collaborative note-taking space is a prominent complaint among users, especially in professional environments where teamwork is commonly needed between different teams.

Finding the notes
When it comes to locating notes, certain apps organize them based on the date of creation, while others offer users the ability to create their own navigational structure that they can recall. However, in both scenarios, users need to become familiar with the system and adapt to it.
Personalizing notes
Users need to know this because they all have different ways that they like to convey data. People want the ability to customize the way their notes look and function based on their own tastes.
Transferring data
Many a times its difficult to lose out on so many notes while handing over the dev and design files to different teams. They need a common file where they do not create a separate document but notes that help them handle each individual file better.
Voice notes
Users can quickly capture their ideas, thoughts, or crucial data by using voice notes. When users need to take notes while catering the flow or code when they want to record information more naturally and spontaneously, this functionality can be quite helpful.
Many users complained that there was nowhere to save private or delicate information that they would rather remain private. Where some needs to be published to help the team and community.
File handovers
File handovers are a big issue where it has always been a problem as developers or designers lose a track of the previous teams vision.
