MIYABI
OVERVIEW
The aim of the Miyabi mobile app is to create a seamless and engaging platform for customers to effortlessly make reservations and order food from an Asian cuisine in India.

THE GAP
Restaurants using their own apps retain 100% revenue, avoiding Zomato/Swiggy’s 15-30% commission. They cut delivery costs (₹10-₹30 vs. ₹30-₹60), ensure faster deliveries (10-15 mins quicker), and offer better rewards (exclusive discounts, cashback, and freebies).

RESEARCH GOALS
I would frequently strike up conversations with random individuals at restaurants, cafés, and other dining spots to uncover patterns and reveal insights about how customers interact with food-ordering and table-reservation systems. Doing this provided a deeper understanding of the dining experience, helping to shape our design-thinking discussions for Miyabi. Having answers to these questions enabled our team to refine key interactions that enhance user satisfaction, blending both quantitative data and real-world customer experiences.

Indirect competitors consist of general restaurant apps, music and relaxation apps, and lifestyle apps, which, while not directly competing, influence user behavior and expectations in the dining experience. Understanding both types of competitors helps refine Miyabi's positioning, ensuring it offers a unique and engaging experience tailored to Japanese restaurant patrons.
